About Evangelist Stephanie Johnson

Biography

God called Evangelist Johnson out of darkness into His marvelous light in 1991. After the loss of her mother at 15 years old and 18 years of drug addiction and alcoholism, she answered the call of God.

Evangelist Johnson began her walk in sanctification under the pastorship of Elder Henry Cole, Way of The Cross COGIC, and recommitted her life to the Lord during a revival held by Evangelist Margie Houston. She was later introduced to Pastor James and Evangelist Regenus Gates of All Saints COGIC where she tarried and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. For 25 years she served as the Sunday School Superintendent, Vice President of YWCC, Choir Director, Pastors Aide, and whatever her hands found to do.

In 2005 she received her Evangelist Missionary credentials under the leadership of General Supervisor, Mother Barbara McCoo Lewis and has volunteered with the School of Licensing assisting the late National Evangelist, Dr. Beverly Willis. Stephanie has also served as a member of the State Missionaries Ablaze under the leadership of Evangelist/Mother Margie Houston.

The Lord sent her out to do the work of an Evangelist at King Jesus Bible Way under the late Dr. Arthur H. Houston where she served as the Prayer and Bible Band President and Leader of the Sunday Night Evangelistic Service, USIS (United Saints in Service for Jesus).

Some of her more recent spiritual accomplishments in the Lord have been to minister in Israel, minister to the women on Skid Row weekly at Fred Jordan’s Mission in Downtown Los Angeles, and do outreach work in the streets of Los Angeles. Stephanie is currently a member of Saint John Powerhouse under the pastorship of Superintendent Craig Lowe Sr. She served as District Missionary over the Shiloh District (succeeding District Missionary Emerita, Margie Houston) appointed by Supervisor Mother Barbara Bryant. Stephanie is also a member of the Department of Evangelism under the leadership of Elect Lady Danielle Belton.

She is an author of her memoir titled God Kept Me. As founder and CEO of God Kept Me Ministries (GKMM), Stephanie has a heartfelt desire to win the lost to Christ. She has recently been appointed Pastor of Grace Bible Assembly.

God has enabled her to hold such positions as office clerk, sergeant in the United States Army, casual employee at the United States Post Office, Floor Production Manager, Painting Contractor, Preschool Teacher, Taxi Dispatcher/Supervisor, Office Manager, and Licensed Insurance Agent. Stephanie is married to Elder David Leon Johnson of 37 years.

She loves to preach the Word of God. Her heart’s desire is to please God and to lead people to Christ. The greatest accomplishment of all is that God has saved, sanctified, and filled her with the Holy Ghost, and her endeavor is that He gets all the glory out of her life.

One of her favorite quotes by the apostle Paul is: “By the grace of God I am what I am.”
